House Projects

I CAN’T BELIEVE I am doing this but in this post I am going to show you ALL the UGLY spots in my house!

And of course, there many nice spots…

But I am just showing you the biggest projects I hope to complete in 2013!!!

Are you READY???

I am going to paint this buffet WHITE! I have been postponing it FOREVER… This is just in front of my dinning table, across form the big window you have seen on my pictures. Once it is PAINTED, I also need to find the right pieces to display on it.

As you can see my dinning room(and living room) is too dark. I also need to decide to paint or not to paint the panelling… Or to paint the chairs.

This is the biggest project we need to “tackle” in 2013. renovating this bathroom. It is the only bathroom we have upstairs. There are beautiful features such as the retro style closet you cannot see, but the floors, sink and bathtub have to go. Ideally I would change the lights too. I want something very simple: Subway tiles, black and white floor. For the sink I want a marble top and white sink. I don’t even care to put glass in the shower (I am taking the bathtub out), I can put a beautiful shower curtain. I actually went shopping on Anthropology hoping to find a white ruffled one during the Holidays but they did not have it in stock. Apparently it is easier to buy online.

You can see a bit of the closet here, on the right, by the window. The toilet is behind the brown door, on the right. This is a funny concept. There is the toilet and a small sink, which I will keep, that were separated by a wall. We opened the wall so now everything is together. The littl epart is cute. But I am here to show you the UGLY, LOL! Don’t you love the “salmon pink”?

Change the cork floor in the kitchen. Replace with some nice waterproof floors. It will be heated. The bozo you see here is Enzo… So adorable in the pictures…

You won’t believe all the damage he did to this house…

More on the cork floor, so you see what him and the other bozo did…

There it is… This is just from Axel (German Shepherd) and Enzo playing around…

I have a great idea for this door. I will renovate it and do the same thing to the door in front of it. This is my son’s bedroom door, and the other door is right in front of it (not damaged) and it is kind of an apartment we have downstairs. So we use it as a rec room. I want to make it look like they are apartment doors.

Enzo did that. He was already 18 months when we moved to this house, so I thought I did not need to crate him anymore… I was wrong!!!
Enzo caused quite a bit of destruction in his “puberty”!!! Here he took the linoleum out of the laundry. I was thinking to replace it all with tiles,  but decided to just replace the linoleum squares, since he is not doing this kind of  stuff anymore.

This is the laundry door. I want to make Burlap covers for the dogs crates, so they look pretty. I saw Kim, from Savvy Southern Style blog, made one for her doggy. Enzo also chewed the stairs but that’s not on my list this year…

And finally…

I want to paint this room white. This is my guest room, which has had MANY makeovers! I currently have a student staying with us, and he is a 16-year old boy! SO all the girly stuff had to go. And I noticed once I took the paper flowers off the wall, that it needs a coat of paint. Easy.

So, these are the MAJOR PROJECTS for the inside of the house… Don’t get me started on the outside…

What are YOUR projects for 2013???

Hugs,

Claudine
